Endow Hartford 21 is a matching gift endowment program, initiated by the Zachs Family Foundation and supported by other lead donors who believe in the nonprofit community across Greater Hartford. Since the program first launched in June 2021, the Endow Hartford 21 match program has helped over 60 non-profits in Greater Hartford build endowment funds.

Now, Endow Hartford 21 continues onward to a 3rd phase of the match!

WHAT MAKES PHASE 3 DIFFERENT?

In Phase 3, Endow Hartford will generously match gifts 1:1 to inspire donors to give generously to support the long-term future of the organizations that they love. This means a gift of $5,000 will be matched with $5,000!

The maximum available match per donor, per organization is $10,000, as in prior phases. Donors that maximized their gift match in Phase 1 and/or Phase 2 will have the opportunity to maximize their gift(s) again, in Phase 3!

The Phase 3 match will be available for gifts received during the 2024 calendar year.

As we all navigated the uncertain times and challenges of Covid during the last several years, annual support from the community was critical to survival for nonprofit organizations. While annual support remains crucial, as it is every year, we simultaneously recognize the need for organizations to build for our future. This is the moment to build for the future. Thanks to the vision and leadership of the Zachs Family Foundation and the other matching donors, we have an opportunity like no other to continue that journey. We hope you will join us.

Why is endowment important?

Organizations need endowments to secure their future. An endowment creates a long-term resource that helps them sustain their missions during periods of revenue fluctuations.

The 11 organizations participating in Phase 3 were carefully selected for their strength and importance in the community, and their proven success building robust endowments in previous phases of Endow Hartford 21.

Make Your Endowment Gift

Your gift will be generously matched 100%. For example, a gift of $1,000 will yield a $1,000 match. Any gift between $250 to $10,000 per participating organization will be matched 1:1 by Endow Hartford 21.
